Does Dutton-Lainson Electric Winch # DL25200 Power Switch have to be Held to Power Load In
Question:
Is the power switch a on/off type or is it a spring loaded switch that needs to be held in position? I want to be able to have the winch retracting while I assist in guiding the boat on to the trailer.

The power switch on the Dutton-Lainson winch # DL25200 is a spring-loaded switch that must be held to power in the load. It was designed this way to reduce the chance of running the motor too long when under load by accidentally leaving the switch on. It is also a safety feature should your hand come off the switch.
I recommend going with the version that has a remote, # TW4015. The remote cable for this winch is 10 feet long. If you need a longer remote cable I recommend the Bulldog winch # BDW15020 which has a 20 foot remote cable. There is also an option to convert it to a wireless remote using # BDW20212.
