Will a 2.8 Inch Wide Tire Fit the Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack # RRRBC050
Question:
I purchased two Rhino Hybrid racks code RRBC050 which should arrive soon and I see that rack only works for mountain bike tires up to 2.7 inches. My bikes have 2.8 inch tires. Will it work if I deflate tires a bit? I purchased to match my RHino Rack Aero Bar rack RRVA126B-2. SHould I return these racks and instead purchase Yamima High Road Roof Bike Rack Y02114 that holds tires up to 3-1/4. IF later is needed, will those Yakima racks fit Rhino rack bars?

That 1/10 of an inch difference between your 2.8 inch wide tires and the 2.7 inch the Rhino-Rack bike rack # RRRBC050 was designed for probably won't be an issue. That is if the 2.8 inch tires really are 2.8 inches wide and not actually wider.
For peace of mind it would be better to go with a rack, such as the HighRoad # Y02114, which will accept the 2.8 inch wide tires for sure. The rack will fit the Rhino-Rack crossbars as well. If you do want to make changes on orders it is best to contact our Customer Service team.
