Best Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-350 with Hitch Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2017 F350 Dually with the factory 5th/goose prep package. I was planning on picking up the BW companion but my new campers GVWR is 21k XLR 413AMP so it looks like that hitch is out. My question is, do I go with the Ford accessory hitch I believe made by Reese rated at 27000 and the comfort of knowing Ford has tested this thing during the trucks development or do I go with a Curt 24k at half the price? Im having a hard time finding information on what others actually use. Thank you for your help!

The two best hitches on the market are the Companion and the Reese M5 hitch that you also mentioned. For you situation the Reese M5 hitch part # RP30922 will hands down be the winner. It has one of the best jaw systems around so it will give you a very smooth and comfortable ride and overall the hitch is very well built and reliable.
The other option is the Curt A25 part # C16036 which also fits the rail kit of your 2017 Ford F-350. This hitch will work well but I'd give the jaw design and reliability edge to the Reese.
