Platform Bike Rack for a Front Mount Hitch on a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

I am planning on purchasing a Curt front mount hitch Code: 31109 from you for my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500. What would you recommend for a bike rack to fit this hitch? I am looking for a 2 bike platform hitch that will be stable and wont move very much. The Swagman S64670 sounds appealing, but the videos appear to show a fair bit of movement of the bike rack while the vehicle is in motion. Thanks in advance!

Any bike rack, but especially platform racks, will have movement. The movement you see in the video is exaggerated due to the placement of the cameras so it appears like it is moving a lot when really it isn't moving all that much. But with that said there are certainly racks that are more stable that others and there are additional measures you can take to further reduce movement.

The Swagman XTC # S64670 uses a threaded bolt that pulls the bike rack shank tight to the side of the receiver but this does not help with up and down movement of the rack in the hitch. Also, this rack uses a 1-1/4 to 2 inch adapter to fit a 2 inch hitch. These adapters often allow for more movement of the rack than a bike rack that is designed just for a 2 inch hitch.

The Kuat NV, # NV22G, has both of these features.
