Recommended Timbren Silent Ride Tandem Axle Trailer Suspension Setup

Question:

Hello, I was wondering if the silent ride is compatible with 7K 4inch axles? My current setup is a 20foot enclosed riding on 3.5K axles and leaf springs. I am looking to upgrade to 7K axles, but dont want too much ride height due to lower car clearances. Also will this setup accept welded on/existing spring perches?

7,000 lb axles are not typically 4 inches in diameter and we don't have a system compatible with that size. If you want to upgrade from your 3,500 lb axles to larger capacity axles, you can use the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 3" Round Axles - 14,000 lbs # TSR14KT01 but you will want to make sure your other trailer components can handle that additional capacity. You will be limited by the weakest component of your entire system.

If you just want to keep your current capacity and axles, you can use the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 2-3/8" Round Axles - 7,000 lbs # TSR7000T04. Most 3,500 lb axles have the 2-3/8 inch diameter. There are some exceptions with 3 inch diameters # TSR7000T05 and 2-1/2 inch diameters # TSR7000T06 but both are rare.

In either situation you don't need to be concerned with the existing spring perches on the axles as they will not be utilized by this assembly.

The other option you have is to use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - Straight Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RS545E or the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - 4" Drop Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RD545E for an even lower ride. These can be used in tandem axle applications and need to use a 2 inch square bar between the spindles using the integrated holes in the assemblies. That bar is not included and will need to be obtained locally and cut to size. See attached video.
