Walled Cargo Carrier to Clear Spare Tire on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

I am looking for a folding hitch mounted carrier that will fit a 2016 Jeep Wrangler . A depth of 20 inches is needed for tool box.

In order to allow for space between a hitch mounted cargo carrier while folded and the factory spare tire on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT78MR. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame is a Class III hitch with an elongated 2" receiver tube opening.

Then for a cargo carrier, I recommend the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier part # M2205. This carrier measures 48-3/4" long x 24" wide x 22" tall and is one of the very few options we have with a depth of 20"+. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of this carrier while folded up is 12" and 14" while folded down therefore, will clear the factory spare tire on your Jeep with the above hitch.
