Tow Wiring Adapter Location For 2005 Ford Escape

Question:

Thanks for the answer. I confirm that the connector in my photo is indeed located under the rear bumper in drivers side and that I do not have an adapter but am seeking one. Does your company have one?

I looked at the picture that you sent and that connector does not look like what the # 40455 plugs into. The connection point is located behind the bumper near the driver's side tail light. The connection location can be seen in the video of this product, it shows the entire install of the 2005 Ford Escape. The install location is shown at the 23 second point in the video.

That connector has a cap on it. You would need to remove the cap to see what is really underneath. You maybe looking in the wrong location, I'm linking you a video, it goes into detail where it is found. If that connector is not there, you can remove the cap from the connector in your photo and test the ports with a test light. As long as you get left turn and brake, right turn and brake and taillight signals (3 wires) you can just splice in a 4-flat connector # 18252 to the corresponding wires and ground the white wire. If those signals are not present and you cannot find the factory tow package connection, you will probably end up having to go with the T-One harness # 118426.
