I would begin by checking the tail light connectors of the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55532. I would also check the bulb if you have not already done so.
Typically, though, when the running light comes on, and the brake and turn signals do not work on one side, that is an indication of a ground problem. I would check the ground connection of the # C55532 harness. You will also want to check to make sure the taillight on the trailer has a good ground connection to a clean metal surface. If you have a plastic license plate bracket on your trailer, this may be preventing a good ground connection as well.
I would also recommend checking the 4-way connector to make sure there is not any corrosion. You can also use a circuit tester, part # PTW2993 to test the yellow and red wires going into the black box. If there is power on the input side and no power on the output side, the unit may be shorted and would need to be replaced.
