Type of Vehicle Likely to Use Tire Size 305/45R22  

Question:

I have some tires and rims that came in a storage unit I bought and are 5 lug bolt pattern is 5 1/2 across and 3 1/4 side to side which makes it a 5 on 5 1/2 and tires are 305/45R22. My question is what vehicle will it fit.. Ive seen this type of rim is for trailers but the size of tire makes me think different. Hope u can help

Tires that are built for the special requirements of use on a trailer will indicate this with the prefix "ST" in front of the tire size, as shown in the linked photo. Your 305/45R22 vehicle tires are not special trailer tires and should not be installed on a trailer even if the wheel bolt patterns allows this.

Vehicle and trailer tires are made differently to handle the respective requirements of vehicles and trailers; neither should ever be used in the other application. It is also not good to mix tire sizes, weight load ranges or construction types (bias ply and radial).

The very large size of these tires - 12-inches wide and almost 33-inches in diameter - means they are likely to have been on a vehicle like a Jeep. Even a 2017 Silverado 3500 has as it largest factory tire size only a 265mm width tire, size 265/70-18.
