If Fuel Is Kept In Generator Can It Run Longer than 8 Hours
Question:
Hi I never owned a gas or propane generator. I was looking to buy one as an emergency back up to keep a refrigerator and freezer from defrosting if the power goes out. Reading the descriptions it sounds like the generators can only be run for 8 to 10 hours. There are times when power can be out for 2-3 days. How long do I need to rest a generator before restarting it to run for another 8-10 hrs? Are there generators that can keep on going for a few days without a rest? Thanks

The time frame you mentioned is for a tank of gas. As long as you keep fuel in a generator you can run it for as long as needed.
The A-iPower 5,000-Watt Portable Generator # 289-AP5000 would easily provide your power needs and would only require you to keep fuel in it to keep it going as long as you need to.
