How to Determine What Ball Mount is Needed With 2018 Mercdes GLE 63S
Question:
I just purchased a Mercedes GLE 63S coupe and the receiver hitch is 13 inch to the bottom or 15 inches at the top. When buying a ball mount, how much rise should I get?

Expert Reply:
You did half the work by measuring 15 inches to the top of the inside of your receiver on your 2018 Mercedes GLE 63S, but you will also need to measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler. If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball mount with that amount of drop. If the height of the coupler is greater, you'll need a ball mount with that amount of rise.
For example, since the top of your receiver measures 15 inches, if the bottom of your coupler measured 17 inches, you would need a ball mount with 2 inches of rise such as # C45270.
