If your 3500 has the 8-foot bed length needed to use a standard fixed (non-sliding) hitch then the best option we offer is the B&W combination gooseneck/5th wheel hitch system made of parts # BWRVK3500-5W and # BWGNRK1062-5W. Please refer to the linked video.
For a wiring kit use part # PK11893-11932. This B&W kit and all other hitches for your truck are shown on the linked page.
The beauty of this B&W system is that you get two hitches in one setup. The install kit for the Companion 5th wheel hitch also serves as a gooseneck hitch. One install, two ways to tow. And when you need the truck bed clear to load cargo, just pull out the Companion 5th wheel hitch. Since this hitch installs without standard base rails that bolt down into the bed you will have nothing in your way when its cargo time.
And the B&W products are arguably the finest on the market and will certainly outlast an entry-level hitch such as the Reese # RP30047.
For a trailer that will weigh up to 13,000-lbs I suggest a 5th wheel hitch rated for at least 16K. This will get you a good safety margin in your towing capacity.
