Will CURT Hitch Cargo Carrier # C18151 Fold Up and Clear the Spare Tire on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
I asked earlier about the smaller carrier by CURT for the 2004 Jeep Wrangler - but I am concerned that the clearance isnt enough due to the spare tire. Would this particular carrier work better? Also - are there any other items we should buy to install it - pins - locks - etc?

The CURT Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # C18151, measures 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the carrier when folded up. That is the same as the CURT Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # C18145, you were looking at earlier for your 2004 Jeep Wrangler
I have the Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # 6502. This cargo carrier fits a 2 inch hitch and measures 20 inches x 48 inches with a 500-lb weight capacity. When folded up, the distance measures 7-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier. It is the folding hitch cargo carrier with the most distance between the hitch pin hole and the cargo carrier. I am including a link to a video review on the Pro Series cargo carrier and the installation instructions.
I would also recommend the Anti-Rattle Device and Lock, part # SR25219, for your hitch cargo carrier.
