Ground Clearance with Trailer Hitch Installed on a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
Question:
What is the clearance between Hitch and floor?

Expert Reply:
With Curt trailer hitch # C11474 installed on your 2011 Volkswagen Jetta the distance from the ground to the bottom of the hitch will be approximately 9-1/2 inches give or take a fraction of an inch.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch. I have linked the Class I compatible 2-bike racks and cargo carriers for you. You will also need a stabilizer strap # 18050.
