Will There be Ground Clearance Issues with Installing Draw Tite Hitch 36644 on 2018 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I have a 2018 Subaru Impreza 5 door hatchback Wagon, not the taller Crosstrek, and am wondering about the rear ground clearance of a Class 2 hitch with the shorter Impreza. I worry about bottoming out. Have you ever installed hitch #36644 on an Impreza and had ground clearance issues ? Thank you.

We haven't had any ground clearance issues with any of the trailer hitches we offer for your 2018 Subaru Impreza including the Draw Tite part # 36644 that you mentioned. When we installed the 2 inch hitch part # 76209 on a 2018 Impreza like yours we found that it had 10 inches from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground when installed.
So from the bottom of the smaller hitch size to the ground would be right at 8-1/2 inches. Which doesn't seem like a lot, but since the rear axle of the vehicle is so close to the rear of the vehicle it's not as likely to drag.
