For your 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4, I recommend you start with the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50064-58. Then for a 5th wheel hitch, I recommend the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047. This combination will serve you well with your trailer weight and pin weight.
With an 8 foot bed you won't have clearance issues, but if you have a 6-1/2 foot bed, then I recommend the same rail kit, but you will want the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30051 for the turning clearance needed. The slider will travel 10 inches front to back between locking positions to provide clearance.
You may also want to consider adding # 50-97-410 for a second 7-way in the bed of your truck for a clean look.
