Can a 16 Foot Ladder Be Carried on the Roof of a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:

aside from using this for bikes and kayaks what are the limitations? specifically is it adequate to carry a 32foot aluminum extension ladder 16foot closed length, approx 60 lbs?

The Thule WingBar Roof Rack part # TH711520, part # TH480R, and part # THKIT1043 is an excellent option for your 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan that will allow for you to carry bikes, kayaks, ladders, and much more. The 16' aluminum extension ladder will be fine as far as weight goes however, due to the shear length of the ladder I recommend adding additional support with a load extender like part # EM07600-07601.

In order to use the above load extender you will need a 2" trailer hitch receiver and if you do not already have one I recommend using part # 75579 which is a Class III with a 2" receiver tube opening. I have attached an install video of this hitch on a similar Dodge Grand Caravan for you as well.
