Adapter Recommendations for Towing Trailer with LED Tailights with 2012 Mercedes ML350

Question:

I have a 12 MB ML350 and a boat with a 5flat and the lights works fine with the 7 round to 5 flat adapter for LED. I just acquired a jetski trailer with a 4 flat. when I plugged the 4 flat onto the 5flat adapter nothing worked. must I have a different adapter or if the trailer wiring was ok should they have worked? does this effectively mean I have to troubleshoot the trailer or have I proved nothing and need to get the 4and5 dual adapter or a separate 4 flat adapter? thanks

Are you using a German vehicle LED adapter?

7-way adapter designed for German vehicles towing LED lighted trailer to prevent the bulb out error message we have the part # C57003.

For an adapter that plugs into a 7-way and then provides a 4-way we have the part # C35FR.

I am a little confused what adapter and trailer connector you have but if you have one of the mentioned adapters you should be good unless the trailer's wiring is at fault. Then in that case you'd need to go over it looking for any shorts or cut wire and fix as needed.
