The Sidewinder option is a great way to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a truck that has a bed length less than 6 feet. The only other option is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 13k part # DM8550040. Unlike most sliders this one can slide back 22-1/2 inches which will be adequate for turning clearance.

You'll need a custom rail kit for your truck for this hitch too. For that you'd want the part # RP50081-58 which fits your truck and the Demco hitch. This will minimize drilling and install time compared to a universal kit. If you wanted to go the Sidewinder route you'd want a fixed hitch like the part # RP30047 and the same rail kit.

You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
