Recommended Trailer Hitch for Bike Racks on 2015 Acura MDX

Question:

Looking for a Class 2 trailer hitch for my 2015 Acura MDX SH-AWD. All seem to be Class 3 minimum. But my bike rack has 1-1/4inch receiver, and adapter is a hassle. I dont typically tow anything. Suggestions? Thanks,

I checked with the manufacturers and the only hitches available for your 2015 Acura MDX are at least Class III and have a 2" receiver. While the adapter may be a hassle, the benefit of a Class III hitch like the Curt # C13146 is that it has a larger tongue weight capacity (900 lbs) than a Class II hitch would and if you do decide, for example, to get heavier bikes or a heavier rack you won't have to also get a new hitch. It is generally a good idea to get a 2 inch hitch (if possible) for this purpose, even if using an adapter isn't ideal and I suggest going with the Curt # C13146 for your Acura.
