Recommended Weight Distribution System with Sway Control for 2017 R-Pod 178

Question:

Im reading some things that scare me about towing. Were picking up our 2017 R-Pod 178 on Monday and getting right on the highway for an hour drive home. Weve never towed before. The salesman recommended a sway controller dont know which one and we included it in our purchase. I dont know if we can change it at this point. My TV is a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory tow pkg. Can you give me info to help me get the right sway controller or WDH so we can feel safe and confident when we travel? This is supposed to be relaxing, right?

Your 2017 Forest River R-Pod RP-178 is a really nice trailer that should be fun and relaxing for you. Your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee should have no problem towing it. You most likely want a weight distribution system for the sway control feature as much as for the weight. For the best sway control weight distribution system, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66082. This system is the only one that actively works to prevent sway versus controlling it once it begins occurring. The dual cam system helps keep your light trailer in line with your vehicle and helps with passing traffic, cross winds, etc.

For your R-pod, you will need a 2 inch ball like # A-90 for this system.
