Trailer Hitch Compatibility Between a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Will the same one work for 2008 and a 2018. I currently own a 2008 and want to buy a 2018. I currently have a draw tie on my 2008.

I have a solution for you, however the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailer hitches are not compatible with the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
That being said, it's a good idea to replace the hitch when you change vehicles, not only because of wear, but also because the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has higher towing capabilities than the 2008 model, and it would be a pity to miss out on that increased capacity.
If you instead have a 2018 SRT-8 or non-Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee, then you'll want the Class III Max Frame Receiver, part # 75699. In addition to the higher Class rating, it has a higher capacity and has a 2-inch receiver, which is far more compatible with accessories and towing applications than the Class II that the jeep originally had.
If you have a 2018 Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee, I recommend Draw-Tite's Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver, part # 75713. This has identical benefits to the Max Frame receiver over your previous hitch.
I've included a video of the Max Frame Receiver being installed on a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so you can get familiar with the process. Since they are largely similar, the process is almost identical.
