Prodigy P2 is Reading n.c. When Gooseneck Trailer is Connected to In-Bed 7-Way Connector
Question:
I’m having some issues with my controller. I installed a new 7 way plug on my truck for my gooseneck setup. I also have a 7 way plug for a bumper pull on my flatbed. I can plug into my gooseneck plug and it just displays a blue dot. Under manual over ride it shows n.c. No connection If I plug my trailer into the bumper 7 way plug it reads fine and let’s me adjust my brake output. I have checked the wires on both plugs and they match to the T. I checked grounds, there is no loose connections etc. Please help this one has me stumped.

Since the Prodigy P2 # 90885 is able to work properly when your trailer is connected to the bumper 7-Way I am thinking that you just received a bad wiring harness. This means that the wiring is working just fine until it T's off.
You can verify this by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and testing the pin in the 5 o'clock position on the 7-Way in your truck bed. Do this while applying the manual override with your P2 and if your harness is working properly, you should see a signal.
If it isn't working properly then you may just want to check the wiring before replacing it. It is possible that during installation some wiring got damaged somehow. Look for any places where it it bent or exposed which would be causing an issue.
If your wiring looks good but you are not getting a signal, then there is something internally wrong with your harness and I recommend replacing it. The most popular option that we have is the Bargman part # 50-97-410. This comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
