If you are looking to add a 4-Way on your trailer to activate the basic trailer light functions then I recommend installing the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness # HM48138 which features a ring design to easily disconnect the connector. It also has the wiring labeled as to what wire goes to what function for easy installation.
For a 7-Way on your trailer I highly recommend going with a 7-Way that has a junction box like part # HS381-9000. The junction box has terminals that you connect the wiring from your trailer to. The terminals are also labeled for easy installation.
Either trailer connector is compatible with the Curt Adapter # C57674 that you referenced and will control the basic lighting functions for your trailer. If you are needing any wiring past the turn, brake, and running lights on your trailer just let me know what you are needing and the year/make/model of your vehicle.
