Recommended Wiring harness for 2003 Ford F-150 and 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Question:

Why can I not find the original wiring harness part # for my 2003 F150 that connects just ahead of the spare tire, it has the 7 pin and 4 pin in the same harness, and comes with both 7 and 4 pin heads ? Also what part do I need for an F250 super Duty that has both as well but is a square plug that plugs on the side of the frame and comes with both poles or ends as well ?

It sounds like you are looking for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774 which is a confirmed fit for your Ford F-150.

For your F-250 the only connection I see is the # 40167 with the long harness or the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C55242. Both only have the 7-way but can use the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM40950 to get both.

If these aren't what you need, you may need to splice your connections as we don't have anything else from our manufacturers for your vehicle and they get the OEM wiring diagrams to work from.

The Tekonsha Harness # 118242 is a perfect fit for your F-150 if it's equipped with the factory 4-Way connector. It will plug right into the OEM port under the bumper. The Curt # C55774 mentioned above will fit only if your truck came with the factory 7-Way, working essentially as a direct replacement.
