Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Wiring for 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado z71 1500 with 4 pin trailer lights. I would like to add a Prodigy # 90195, # 3015-P, and a 4 and 7 pin trailer light plug. What other parts do I need to complete this?

Starting with the trailer brake controller itself, the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 that you referenced is an excellent choice and exactly what I would recommend. This is a great, proportional controller that will activate the trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Chevy Silverado. The Plug-In Adapter # 3015-P that you also mentioned will work perfectly to install the controller in your 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500. One end of the adapter will connect to the controller, and the other end will plug right in to the factory port beneath the truck's dash.
From there, the Tow Ready Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Connector # 30717 will work nicely to convert your existing 4-Way to the needed 7-Way connector. After connecting the 4-Way end of the adapter to your current 4-Way, the additional wires will then need to be connected to the factory bundle of wires that should be located above the spare tire. The blue wire from the adapter goes to the brake output wire, the black wire goes to the 12V power wire, the yellow wire is the auxiliary wire for 12V power, reverse lights, or reverse lockout on trailer brakes, which might not be needed. The white wire will then connect to the vehicle frame for ground.
This will be everything you need to install the brake controller and 7-Way connector on your Silverado. I have attached the written installation instructions for the products mentioned that you can also take a look at.
