Anytime you are going to haul cargo on the roof of your 2010 Infiniti QX56 ( I do not list a Q54 model) you will want to check the owners manual or with the Infiniti dealer for what the roof capacity is for your vehicle. The roof capacity will let you know how many pounds you will be able to haul on the roof of your vehicle.

The Thule Interstate Roof Rack Cargo Bag, part # TH869 is designed to work on your factory roof rack if you have crossbars that run from side-to-side. If you have the crossbars, then the Thule cargo bag will be an excellent choice for your vehicle. If the crossbar spread on your vehicle is less than 40 inches, Thule does note to attach the straps to the crossbars and the side rails and then drape the bag over the rear crossbar.

You could attach the Thule Interstate Cargo Bag using the straps and the side rails on your vehicle, but the bag will still be able to slide back and forth on the roof. If the bag were to contain heavy, rigid items, it could damage your roof.

If you do not have the crossbars on your vehicle I recommend to use the Thule Evo raised rail feet, part # TH710401 and the Thule WingBars, part # TH711400 in silver or # TH711420 in black. These items will allow you to install crossbars to your factory side rails on your vehicles roof. With these crossbars installed you can then use the Thule cargo bag on your vehicle. I am including a link to a video review of the Thule roof rack.
