Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Cab and Chassis
Question:
Hello, I am searching on your website and ready to purchase a 5th wheel but cant decide between the curt 25k or the husky 26k. My main concern is which install kit and mounting kit I would need to purchase with either one of those that I go with. I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 dually and its a cab and chasis so I need to know what I need exactly. I am mounting it directley to the frame. Hope to hear back soon so I can proceed in purchasing what I need from your site.

Typically for cab and chassis trucks we recommend Reese Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30054 which is designed to mount directly to truck frames that are taller than standard frames like the cab and chassis trucks.
Installation of the Reese low-profile fifth-wheel trailer hitch may require welding and moderate fabrication to ensure that the hitch is connected either directly to your vehicle's frame or to a substantial steel support structure that connects to the frame.
We don't have a great way to install either of the hitches you mentioned.
