For your 1992 Damon Challenger, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This controller is a proportional controller that will allow your trailer brakes to apply at the same time and with the same intensity as you hit the brakes in your motorhome.
You will need to hard wire this controller, and I recommend using the Universal Brake Controller Wiring Kit # ETBC7. You most likely will need the some extra wire found as part # 10-2-1as well. This kit will require a 4 way trailer connection, so I recommend the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C58044 if you do not already have that. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm wiring functions before splicing.
