Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer that Weighs 4,500 lbs
Question:
2003 Tahoe Z-71, factory tow package. Will be towing a 20foot double axle travel trailer that lists at 3500# dry, will assume a max of #4500 loaded. Dry tongue weight listed at #350. Will be towing throughout the PNW. Recommendations for WD/anti sway set-up for this? thanks,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Since your trailer will be about 4,500 lbs loaded that would mean that your tongue weight would be between 450 and 675 lbs. So the Reese Strait Line part # RP66083 would be perfect for this as it has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and features the only sway control system on the market that works to fight sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
