Recommended 5th Wheel Rail Installation for Husky Slider Hitch on 2018 Toyota Tundra 6.5 Foot Bed

Question:

First time installing base rails HT31410-686 on 2018 tundra 6 1/2foot bed, I plan to use the Husky 16k 5th wheel hitch. Will the base rails fit with factory holes or will I have to drilling new holes? Any suggestions or recommendation that will help with the install.

Helpful Expert Reply:

The custom-fit brackets of the # HT31410-686 mount to existing holes in your Toyota Tundra's frame. You will only need to drill holes in the bed of your truck for the rails, but the brackets and frame will require no drilling. There are installation instructions attached for the mounting bracket kit # HT31410 that is part of that kit to assist. For an easier to use kit, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50084-58 which is also compatible with your Husky 5th wheel hitch.

For your 16K Husky 5th wheel hitch, I recommend the Husky Silver Series 16K W 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ 10 Composite Slider # HT31326-32042 is a great fit for your short bed truck. You will want the slider for the turning clearance needed due to your short bed.

I also recommend the wiring harness # 41157 to give you a clean look with easy connection access in the bed of your truck.
