Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2016 LXE Aliner

Question:

I asked yesterday about a weight distribution hitch for a light trailer. I am worried my trailer is too light for a weight distribution hitch. I weighs about 2200# when I load it and the tounge weight is around 200#. I do add load in the back of my FJ but not a lot of weight is behind the tires. It saggs and when I drive at night my lights bother people. I was wondering if this might be an option to help. I looked at the air bags but I am afraid it might be too hard for me to install. I like that this doesn’t need air adjustments too. Do you think this might work for me? I am surprised the FJ saggs with this weight but it does. I also put a kayak on top which probably effects it some.

If you think your tongue weight will be at least 250 lbs the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 will work great. It sounds like you are really close if not over the figure. It's hard to come up with a WD system for a lower rated setup though. Most applications with that low of a tongue weight either have hitches not rated for WD systems or the WD system just isn't needed.

To install a ball you'll need a thin walled socket like # ALL643216.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

Yes, the Timbren kit part # TTORSEQ that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. This will provide your suspension with more support so that it can tow a trailer level. It's a great solution for you that would probably be better suited for your application. Air bag kits are a bit more involved to install and require maintaining air pressure or running air lines.
