Since your 2009 Dodge Ram has a factory tow package (which should include a 7-Way trailer connector), you will need the Dodge Wiring Harness, # 3020-P to be used with your # 90185. AlI you will need to do is mount the controller as specified in the instructions which I have linked for you, plug the wiring harness into the back of the brake controller and the other end into the under dash hook up you mentioned and installation will be complete.
I have also included a link to a video showing an installation on a 2009 Dodge Ram. The truck in the video is a 3500 but the installation will be very similar on your truck.
