I'd recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X72006 which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Ford C-Max. This hitch does not require a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack like the Curt does so it's what I would get if I were you. It also has the more desirable 2" receiver opening which gives you more choices for accessories.
