I do have a solution for you to still use a Weight Distribution (WD) system, but unfortunately aside from WD shanks different parts of WD systems are not interchangeable. Even if they were to fit together they have not been tested together and so any weight capacities would be unknown. If you would like to still use a WD system you will need a whole new kit.

Since it looks like you are using a friction sway control like part # 83660, a similar WD system that has a Tongue Weight (TW) range of 700 lbs - 1,200 lbs is the Reese System # RP66542. This comes with a hitch head that has the tabs on the side to attach your sway control kit. All that is needed to complete this kit is a hitch ball like the 2" # A-90 or the 2-5/16" # 19286.

Even though this kit will work for your application, I recommend going with a different WD system that has the cway control integrated. This will allow you to backup without having to disengage the sway control every time.

For a similar TW range I recommend the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1200 which has the same TW range of 800 lbs - 1,200 lbs that your current system has, but this option has the sway control integrated. You will just need one of the hitch balls that I mentioned above to complete this system although a 1-7/8" thin walled socket, like part # EQ70-00-4800, is recommended to install the hitch ball.

Please note that you will need a WD system with a (TW) range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

I have attached a review video for you to check out as well as some helpful articles on WD systems for you to reference.
