Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2009 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I need your input on a weight distribution system for my 2009 Toyota 4Runner. Apparently, Toyota does not recommend a weight distribution system for the V6 model I own. Online Forums indicate that it can be done if the factory installed weight carrying hitch is replaced with a weight carrying hitch that is attached to the frame of the vehicle rather than the rear crossmember it is factory mounted on. What is your experience with this model 4Runner? I pull an A-Frame trailer, maximum weight would be 3000 lbs, but I am looking at increasing my tongue weight by adding 6V batteries to the tongue. The back of the car already sags when we travel weighted down so I feel that a weight distribution system would increase safety. Thanks.

We have to recommend you check with a Toyota dealer and see what they think. If they say the vehicle can't be used with weight distribution regardless of the hitch used then there's no way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

Best option we have now that we know will work great is the Timbren kit part # TTORSEQ which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and will provide quite a bit of suspension support.

I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
