Shorter Adapter that Fits 2017 Ford F-350 Factory Puck System to Lower Front of Trailer

Question:

I have an 2017 F350 and a 5th wheel Pullrite Superglide hitch with adapter that fits into the pucks on the truck. The adapter is a rail adapter that Ford sold me but It is around 3 inches high. Im looking for a rail adapter that that sits flush on the bed so that my Rv will ride more level. My alternative is to buy an adjustable hitch.

All of the puck adapters for the factory 5th wheel prep package on the 2017 Ford F-350, including # DM6175, are going to raise the height of the hitch some though the Demco one may be slightly shorter overall. It won't be enough to make much of a difference.

There is actually another alternative to getting a different hitch. You may be able to raise the pin box up on its mounting wings. This will lower the front of the trailer. If your hitch is not height adjustable then adjusting the pin box is the only other way to lower the front of the trailer short of replacing the hitch.

If you do decide on going with a different hitch I recommend the Demco HiJacker # DM8550024. This hitch fits directly in the puck system in the truck bed. It slides automatically and has 14 inches of travel. I have linked a video review of this hitch for you.
