Furrion Wireless Backup Camera Function for Pre-Wired Forest River Trailers
Question:
My trailer is pre-wired for my 2017 FR Cherokee. I read in one of the reviews that you have to have your lights on for the camera to work. Is this correct? I do not have daytime running lights just auto day/night lights. Will this mean that I need to have my truck lights on if I am to view this while traveling? Thank you!

For your 2017 Forest River Cherokee, the Furrion Digital Wireless Observation System # FOS43TASF is prewired as you mentioned. The pre-wiring is only for the reverse function according to the manufacturer, so if you want the constant viewing function you will need to rewire the unit to the running light power wire as you mentioned instead of the reverse light wire. This will allow the camera to function at all times when connected to your tow vehicle.
The Auto-day/night lights on your tow vehicle will give you the constant running light function on your trailer so you do not need to worry about adapting, however there normally is a way to override the auto light function, so you may want to check your owners manual for that feature should you desire to utilize it.
