Question:
Why fo i need to spend over $1000 to tow my jeep. Seems excessive, why wont the my old tow bar that connects to the hitch ball work with one of the faceplates?

Flat towing components are expensive. They have to be strong enough to be safe to use, easy enough to install and connect, and they require quite a bit of research and development to fit each vehicle.
The other option is a tow dolly. They cost about the same when it's all said and done and don't require nearly the same install time. Plus you can use them with different vehicles without having to re-buy components. The part # RM-2050-1 would be a great option. For your vehicle you'd have to look into a drive shaft disconnect as well for the rear axle. We do not carry any.
I am not sure what tow bar you have though so it's hard for me to say what it would take to connect a tow bar to it.
