Cleaning your 7-way connection is a great start and I also recommend using some dielectric grease # 11755 to keep dirt, moisture, and corrosion out of your system. Since your other trailers work, the issue is most likely on your trailer itself. I recommend checking the ground connection on your trailer to ensure you have a bare metal to metal connection free of rust and corrosion. You will also want to check your ground wires for your electric brakes near each assembly for the same. It sounds like you either have a bad ground causing the short error and no brakes or you have a short in the brake power wire. You can use a circuit tester like # 3808 to check that wire for a short. If you find one, replace it with # 10-1-1.
Finally, you may want to check your brake magnets as they can wear down and need replacing. I've attached an article to assist.
