Recommended Roof Rack with Best Aerodynamics on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Question:

The Seasucker 298-BX1806 looks like it will carry a 10foot porta bote which folds and transports like a surfboard, on the roof of a 2017 Ridgeline. The question is whether it will fit on top of the Ridgeline as it has a series of ridges in the roof. Will the suction cups mount between these?

The most aerodynamic roor rack to fit your 2017 Honda Ridgeline is the Thule WingBar system that consists of 60 inch bars, part # TH711520 in black or # TH711500 in silver, the Rapid Traverse Foot Pack, part # TH480R, and the fit kit # THKIT1811. Since you have a naked roof it connects using the clamps in the door jambs, so it isn't the most convenient thing to put on and take off regularly.

Another option is a SeaSucker product. It just depends what you're planning to carry on the roof because they're all specific for their applications. For instance there's the Talon, part # 298-BT1004, for bikes and the Surfboard Carrier, part # 298-BX1806 just to name a couple.

The Seasucker Board Carrier, part # 298-BX1806, might work for you. I went out to our warehouse and measured because we've never tested it on a Ridgeline. The cups are 6 inches in diameter and they're about 25-1/2 inches apart, center on center. So if that fits between the ridges on your roof they'll work just fine. Another option that may work for you is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B. It creates crossbars on the roof of your Ridgeline that are held on by the same suction cups.
