Sway Control Recommendation for Towing a 2004 K-Z Frontier 28 Foot Travel Trailer

Question:

I am going to purchase the Reese dual cam sway control unit from etrailer but see the spring bars are not included. How do I know which spring bars to buy? And how do I figure that out? I have a 2004 K-Z Frontier 28 foot lightweight travel trailer.

If you just want sway control and do not want to add weight distribution, you will need to use friction sway control like # 83660. You will also need a bracket for the end that attaches to the vehicle hitch. use # RP26003 for a 2 inch ball mount, or # RP26005 for a 1-1/4 inch ball mount.

If you want a weight distribution system with dual-cam sway control, I recommend Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, # RP66087. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this system for you. This system comes with everything you will need except a properly sized ball. You can use # 19256 (2-5/16 inch diameter) or # A-90 (2 inch diameter).

I have also incldued a link to our weight distribution and sway control FAQ article.
