Recommendation to Replace Double Eye Leaf Springs on Montana 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
Have a Montana 2955 5th wheel with 5280lb Dexter axles. The springs are failing on one side. So lets just do them all......... The 5300lb springs make sense, other than the length at 24 7/8. The current springs measure 26 eye to eye. Do they springs get longer once loaded? There is the 6000lb option that is 26, other than I do not really need the payload increase of 1400lbs. Plan is to implement EZ-Flex, since everything will be apart. Took measurements, attached. And included the Cart of the items I am thinking. Just want to make sure this will all fit together right! Let me know if you need further info. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I am happy to get your Montana 5th Wheel Trailer all set up with new suspension components.
When picking out replacement leaf springs, it is important to keep in mind that older springs will have stretched out a bit from their original length. This difference likely won't quite be the 1-1/8 inch difference between the 26 inch measurement you took on your springs and the 24-7/8 inch Double-Eye Springs # SP-222275 you referenced, but it is still a good idea to select a leaf spring stack that measures just a bit shorter than your existing set.
With this in mind, I actually recommend going with the Universal Group 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e34SR, which measures 25-1/4 inches from eye to eye. These 6,000 pound springs are indeed a little over-rated, but not enough to cause any noticeable difference in the suspension. For your particular application, getting a replacement that is as close as possible to the original length is more important and will make for easier installation.
The CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23003 that you also referenced will work well for these springs on your trailer. The galvanized plates and zinc-plated hardware will do a great job of resisting rust and corrosion.
Then, the E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-653-00 that you mentioned will work great as long as your existing equalizers feature a distance of 7-3/4 inches from bolt hole to bolt hole.
I have attached a few short video demonstrations on these products that you can also check out.
