Could 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997 Have Charge Wires Extended
Question:
I have a gas coach stored under a covered area. Batteries are near the front of the coach and the sun hits the motorhome in the rear. Can this be hooked up to a long wire....if so, what size wire for an approximate 27 foot run after the 9 foot wire that comes with it? Also, will this maintain the charge on a 4 12v battery bank?

Helpful Expert Reply:
It in theory would work fine, but the longer the wire the more resistance you put on the circuit which then diminishes the charging capacity. Only way around that is to go with as thick of a wire as possible. You'd want to run 10 gauge wire for both circuits like part # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot.
