Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2017 Ford F-250 with Factory Rail Kit and Short Bed

Question:

we just purchased a 2017 ford f-250 with a six foot bed. The truck came with a factory fifth wheel setup where its got four rubber plugs on the inside of the bed. we previously had a 2011 f-250 with a super glide hitch which we loved. My question is what will work on the factory mounts of my 2017 and still give me the same feature as my super glide.

For a fifth wheel hitch that will mount directly to the factory pucks on your 2017 Ford F-250, I highly recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550024. This is an excellent hitch that, like your SuperGlide, will automatically slide when you turn to give you an additional 14 inches of clearance. It also features a wraparound, single-piece jaw to provide an excellent connection to the trailer king pin and a towing weight capacity of 18,000 pounds. It has 3 height settings (15-1/2 inches, 16-3/4 inches, and 18-1/4 inches) to better fit your specific application.

Another possible option is to use the Reese Elite Series Underbed Raril Adapter # RP30156. If your existing SuperGlide hitch mounts to above-bed, industry standard rails, you can use this adapter with your current hitch. The rail adapter will mount to the factory pucks in the truck bed and provide industry standard rails for the SuperGlide to attach to.
