Lightweight 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2017 Ram 2500 with 8 Foot Bed

Question:

I have a Curt 24,000 lb fifth wheel hitch in my 2017 Ram 2500 longbed. My eyeballs almost pop out everytime i have to remove it. Its too heavy. Can you help me chose and Anderson? Pleas help.

I have the perfect option for your 2017 Ram 2500 with an 8' bed. I recommend using the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System part # AM3200. The Anderson hitch comes with an adapter that converts the kingpin on your trailer for use with a gooseneck hitch ball which is what the Anderson hitch has. A gooseneck hitch ball has a greater swivel radius than standard 5th wheel hitches. The hitch also only weighs around 55 lbs which will be loads easier to remove in comparison to your Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch which weighs over a 100 lbs more.

If you have industry standard above bed base rails in your Ram then this hitch will work for you without any modifications. However, if your Ram has the factory rail kit then you will also need to use the Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter part # RP30154.
