Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter for Recessed Hitch Ball on a Flatbed 2015 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I have a 2015 chevy duramax, with a flatbed and longbed. I have a recessed, stock hitch. To pull a 5th wheel RV what kind of hitch adapter would I need. Thank you.

In order to tow a 5th wheel trailer with a recessed gooseneck hitch, I recommend taking a look at the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter part # CAB-C5G or the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter part # AM3100.

The Convert-A-Ball will require an opening on the truck bed where the hitch ball is located of around 7" long x 7" wide and the Ranch Adapter will require around 5-1/2" long x 5-1/2" wide from the same opening in order for either adapter to work for you. Since most states require safety chains for use with gooseneck to 5th wheel adapters, you can add them to the Ranch adapter using part # AM3109.

I have attached two photos showing the base dimension of each adapter for you as well.
