20k Reese Goose Box Recommendation for Trailer with Lippert 1621 Pin Box

Question:

hello my truck has a flatbed on it and I have always used the Anderson gooseneck adapter on previous campers. We just purchased a 18000 lb 5th wheel and don’t want the adapter for something that heavy. My first question is will this work with a flatbed and a recessed ball? Second question is my Lippert pinbox currently is a 1621 shd will this Reese goose box mount to my trailer? I have attached a picture of my current pinbox. Thanks

For your trailer that has a Lippert 1621 pin box the correct Reese Goose Box adapter is the # RP85FR which has a 20k capacity.

Most flatbeds have a recessed portion where the gooseneck ball resides. It's hard to say for certain but you can measure your setup to get an idea.

At 4 inches up from the very bottom where the Goosebox clamps around the gooseneck ball, the clamp mechanism is 7-1/2 inches at its widest point. You can compare that measurement to your setup to see if it would clear. Most cases it will.
