I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed with a 9464-35 underbed hitch will a curt 16220x5 adaptor work thanks

The Curt X5 # C16220 that you referenced is designed to fit the Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch # C60682 for your 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup.

Since you have the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 9464-35 installed on your Ram the best solution would be to use the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # 9480 which is confirmed to work with B&W Turnover Ball, Hide-A-Goose by Draw-Tite or Reese, and Under-Bed by Bulldog gooseneck hitches.

Unfortunately there are no adapters that will adapt your gooseneck hitch to 5th wheel base rails.

We do have some other adapters like the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100, but trailer manufacturers tend to look down on the use of these and typically say that they will void the warranty of the trailer. You will want to check with your manufacturer before using an adapter like this.
