How to Choose the Correct Pre-Greased Replacement Hub for Snowbear Trailer

Question:

I have an old snowbear 5x8 trailer and need to replace a hub that looks destroyed. the axle seems fine. I want to replace hub as the outside race and bearing are completely gone and I dont think I can get a new race pressed in the damaged hub. the hub bolt pattern measures 4 1/2. can Etrailer provide a new hub with bearings installed? also I need the axle nut as it is severely rusted. The other hub and bearings are in great condition.

There are pre-greased hubs available in a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. In order to find the correct replacement hub you can take apart your good hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them.

If your hub has inner and outer bearings # L44643 you'd need CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly w/ Carrying Case for 2,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # CE13210.

Should your hub have inner and outer bearings # L44649 you would need CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly w/ Carrying Case for 2,700-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # CE13311.

And if your hub has an inner bearing of # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649 you will need Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-545-35-K.

These kits come with the bearings pre-greased so you will not need to pack them. As for an axle nut, I assume you are referring to the spindle nut such as the 1" Spindle Nut # 165686. I have added a link to our page with each of our spindle nuts so you can find the correct size. I've also added links to video reviews of the hubs for you to take a look at.
